Be Here for Central Eastside and The Lloyd.

Ride, walk, explore, shop and dine in the Lloyd and Central Eastside and help Portland’s small businesses recover.

The Here for Portland Initiative is excited to be promoting intentional shopping and dining by providing $50 Kuto App credits to attendees of the Portland Youth Opportunity Fair at the Oregon Convention Center on August 18th 2022.

The Portland Youth Opportunity Fair is an annual event that is put on my Prosper Portland and Worksystems that creates a space for youth ages 16 to 24 to find and connect with resources that will help them discover their next job or career.

The event takes place on Thursday, August 18th from 10 AM to 2 PM.

To promote intentional shopping and dining and support the recovery of the Central Eastside and The Lloyd, we’ll be issuing 1,000 $50 stimulus credits, funded by the American Rescue Plan, which are spendable at local small businesses participating in Here for Portland, Lloyd & Central Eastside.

How?

Credits will be issued through Kuto App (Apple Store or Google Play), a local app-based payment system that promotes local spending and reduces transaction fees.

Look for the Here for Portland tent to receive a $50 stimulus credit to shop and dine locally.

Who can receive $50 in Kuto App credits?

Anyone attending the Portland Youth Opportunity Fair on August 18th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM can receive a Kuto App gift card credit while supplies last.

Where can Here for Lloyd & Central Eastside gift card credits be spent?

Credits disbursed through this program can be spent at participating small and local restaurant and retail businesses in and around Lloyd and Central Eastside neighborhoods. They can be used for making purchases as well as for tipping frontline workers.

Small restaurant and retail businesses have been hit the hardest over the past two years so that’s where we’re encouraging intentional shopping and dining. We’re also prioritizing outreach and inclusion to address the disproportionate impact to BIPOC-owned businesses, low-income entrepreneurs, food carts, and businesses impacted by break-ins and vandalism.
