Be Here for Foster-Powell, come to the Makers de Mayo Celebration!

Eat, drink, shop & explore Latin American culture. Over 50 local businesses to wrap in Foster Powell Partners. Noon – 6:00 pm.

Restaurant and retail businesses have been suffering revenue losses and going out of business in record numbers since the onset of the pandemic and the social distancing measures that soon followed.

On May 7th from noon – 6:00 the Portland Mercado will be holding Makers de Mayo to support local BIPOC businesses and the Foster-Powell business district. This market and celebration will feature onsite local vendors and entertainment.

At the Makers de Mayo event we will be issuing two thousand $50 Kuto App gift credits that can be spent at small local restaurant and retail businesses participating in Here for Portland, Foster-Powell.

Who can receive $50 in Kuto App credits?

Anyone who attends the Makers de Mayo event at Portland Mercado on May 7th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM can receive a Kuto App gift card credit while supplies last.

Where can Here for Foster-Powell gift card credits be spent?

Credits disbursed through this program can be spent at participating small and local restaurant and retail businesses in and around Foster-Powell. They can be used for making purchases as well as for tipping frontline workers. Small restaurant and retail businesses have been hit the hardest over the past two years so that’s where we’re encouraging intentional shopping and dining. We’re also prioritizing outreach and inclusion to address the disproportionate impact to BIPOC owned businesses, low-income entrepreneurs, food carts, and businesses impacted by break-ins and vandalism.
